On July 10, the Vimcorsa Exhibition Hall of Córdoba City Council will open “Premio Mezquita. La Colección” (“Mezquita Award. The Collection”), an exhibition featuring 167 photographs selected from more than 500 award-winning works from the City of Córdoba National Photography Competition – Premio Mezquita, spanning the years 1983 to 2024, when the competition celebrated its 25th edition.

Among the featured photographers is José María Mellado, who received the “Super Mezquita” Honorary Award in 2001. His work is part of the collection, and he later returned to the competition as a member of the jury, further strengthening his connection with one of Spain’s most prestigious photography competitions.

The exhibition offers a journey through more than four decades of contemporary Spanish photography while showcasing the remarkable photographic collection built by the Córdoba City Council through the Premio Mezquita competition.
