ICELAND ICE AND FIRE
The Miguel Delibes Space in Alcobendas hosted the exhibition ICELAND on May 11, 2023. ICE AND FIRE; a photographic exhibition that has brought together the work of photographers Clara Bravo, Graciela Crespo, Kika Dávila, José María Díaz-Maroto, Luis Eguiagaray, Cristina Hierro and José María Mellado. The authors have proposed a very peculiar look and portrait of the landscape of Iceland from a selection of the spectacular photographs that have been made by these creators and participants to the masterclass of José María Mellado carried out in Iceland, from which these visual stories have emerged.
The works in this exhibition have as a common point the interest in capturing the grandiloquence of a land as vast as Iceland. From diverse and personal approaches, the photographs reflect the sublime character of a geography that has been a source of curiosity for so many because of the strength with which nature imposes itself on it; that magnificence of the natural that is not only revealed in its solemn existence, but also in its relationship with the human footprint through its vestiges.
